Good Podcast on Cardspace on the Client-Side

You might know Richard Campbell as one of the hosts of the iconic DotNetRocks! podcast. Recently, Richard has created a new podcast named RunAsRadio, which he hosts together with Greg Hughes.

While DotNetRocks! focuses mostly on the developer (with the occasional IT side show), RunAsRadio is going to be exclusively focused on the IT professional. However, this does not mean that the show does not contain any good information for us developers and architects!

As proof of the above, show #3 is a talk with Dana Epp on Windows Cardspace on the client. Cardspace is one of those features of .NET 3.0 which tends to get a lot less attention as compared to the "big three" (WF, WCF and WPF).

I really recommend spending about 30 minutes to listen to this show. This is by far the most down-to-earth, clear explanation of Windows CardSpace. Dana starts out by mentioning the inherent problems that are associated with the "classic" Web authentication systems such as Passport. He goes on the cover the basic concepts of CardSpaces, providing a good overview of the difference between sef-issued and managed-cards, and closing out with some hints on where identity management might be headed in the near future.

Highly recommended!
